The iPhone is a really poor choice for diagnosing these problems due to the way Apple have implemented the protocol.
If you are getting an error from OMA then that is not a good sign. What error are you receiving?

What I have been finding is that resetting the virtual directories is the quickest way to get it working: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=883380

I would also suggest testing the site using the Microsoft's test site and a test account.

here are the changes i have made--
ESM\servername\protocol\HTTP\default v server\settings and i have desabled the "based form authentication
once i have done this i was able to connect my iphone to the exchange.
i have tested this procidure 10 times to make sure i am not getting confused so i have disable the base forms authentication re enable ans so long
my problem is now i lose the based form authentication log on screen and feature
does anyone know what is the connection between disabling the base form auth to conncting iphone to exchange 2003?
i dont get it
please advice
