Installation of an operating system on a server
Hi,
I have just configured a dell poweredge 2850 server with a raid 5 setup, it has a perc4e/di raid controller. I wish to install win2k3 operating system and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if drivers were required for this setup and if so do you load them before or after installation of the operating system.
What drivers would you recommend as I have purchased this server second hand with no disks, I would have to download them.

Pop around to the Dell website and download the Dell OpenManage Server Assistant software. This does the lot, drivers and everything. All you need to do is to boot from a cd to get going.

Great comment thankyou. Just loaded up operating system and then asked for drivers what I got from the dell website. Operating system fully installed ready to setup for my company.
