2 short beeps on boot.

I have a DELL and get 2 short beeps on boot and then the following message:

INTEL RAID for Serial ATA - RAID BIOS v3.5.6.6253
Press F1 to continue     Press F2 to enter setup

Hit F1 and the system boots fine.  I flashed the BIOS to the latest update I could find, which is in the error message, and no change.  I thought 2 beeps meant a memory issue but the RAM is seated tight and the memory is seen in Windows.  Any ideas?

if you look in or download the manual for your specific computer, there should be a section in there explaining what the 2 beeps represent.  Many OEM's have different beep codes.

The manual only shows three number sequences such as 1-3-1.  My PC only beeps 2 times.  Is there another resource?

Dimension XPS.  Not using RAID.  I'll try turning it off in the BIOS and see if that fixes it.  I'll post results.
test ram and disk diags acccessable with F12

Turned RAID off.  Sma eproblem but says it can't find SATA Secondary Drive or Primary/Secondary Drive.  In BIOS listed as unknown.

Got it fixed.  When I turned off RAID the option for SATA Primary and Secondary appeared.  SATA Primary was listed as the HD.  SATA Secondary and Primary and Secondary Drive were listed as unknow.  I had to go into those three and change the status from AUTO to OFF.  Once off the system stopped looking for extra drives and just booted directly to WXP OS.  Thanks for the help.
Congrats!
Thank you much.  : )
