What scanner did you use to check for malware/viruses?
Have you also tried System Restore? Most often it works when the problem is very recent(works with me)

Try these tools and show us the logfiles.
1.  Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop, check for the tool's Updates before running a scan.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

If you can't access the above link then use this link and rename the file before saving to your desktop.
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

2.  Please download ComboFix by sUBs:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log and attach it in your next reply by pasting it in the "Code Snippet" or "Attach File" window.
Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

This error is multi-causal. It could very well be the KLEZ.E worm, yet it might just as well be one out of a variety of non-malware related issues.

1. Do you run Symantec Endpoint on the laptop? Try with SEP disabled.
2. Is it a Dell laptop? Search for the file "wxvault.dll" and rename it. Then reboot and try again. If the error is gone, update the Embassy Trust/Security Suite.
3. Are there Visual Basic runtimes installed on the system? Make sure they are the newest and they are compatible with your OS.
4. Does the error occur only with applications that require the .NET runtime? Uninstall all of them, then install the .NET 3.0 version.

What I find most alarming about this error, however, is the high number of users who claim that it persisted, even after formatting and re-installing.
Which, in case neither the virus scans nor the points I listed above did help, leaves us with yet another three plausible causes:

1. A bootsector virus - should have been found by ComboFix, I guess.
2. Drivers - you as a technician will already have looked into that point, I presume.
3. Hardware failure - did you check the integrity of RAM, HDD etc?
Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.

you can try a system restore to a previous day; if it works, don't forget to clean out the malware.
Easiest is to download DARTS, and do it from there :

So if you tried all the solutions, where's the Combofix log?
A "reformat" solution doesn't have much value in the database.
You also have the option to delete the question instead.
