I know this is an old one. But I can't seem to get it sorted.
I only get this error with new users that want to create an account on their outlook 2007 profile. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. So I only get this error externally.
W2K3 SP x64 with Exchange 2007. Server01 = Hub & CA, Server02 = Mailbox
ISA 2006 on W2K3. Exchange Rule. Everything else works from externally. Thanks.

OK. I've already tried rebooting the AD servers, but that did not help. As for the RUS Troubleshooting Ill give it a go and let you know. Thank you.

OK. That RUS was difficult....
But throuhg all of it I did manage to realize new info. I appears to only happen with users that has an email domain differnt from the norm. We have mail domains. Call them A, B, C, and D. We successfully use all of them internally. Externally only A & B works. C and D give the above error. From what I understand this must be a problem with Autodiscover. However why does two different domains work while the other 2 do not? Also I do not havce Address Lists for the effected C & D. Can this be the problem.
Thanks.

We have purchased a third party application for HMC. When using this it reports configuration errors our Exchange server. Firstry two of our company's created with mail domain's C & D is "not assostiated with any domains" and seccondly they "do not have corrosponding OAL". I am working around this at the moment to get the problem resolved.

Using HMC we try to rebuild the OAB for the effected company. we get the following error message
"OfflineAddressBook path is null. An OAB must be associated with the OwningOrganization in order to rebuild the OAB."
anyone have any idea how to fix this one?
Thanks.

OK so the problem is that when I created a Company (Reseller) and then a mail enabled user, and used ADSIedit I noticed that the user would be missing "msExchUseOAB". I added this and now it is woring from externally. Now I am trying to find out why this happens when I create a new reseller and user. I will post the result.

Hello again
So the problem turned out to be HMC that was causing the problems. Whenever we created a new user the user was asosiated with the wrong OAB. From what I can see the OAB list for the effected company's are corrupted. I deleted and recreated the list and now all is well. It was the RUS troubleshooting to got me to the problem. Thanks RobinHuman
