Acer AL1916W LCD monitor with no display

This monitor was working fine and then i went to turn it on and get no display and no menu either.  When connected to a computer the light stays green so i think that it knows it is getting a signal just can't see anything.  Is there anyway to repair it, only about a year old.

It's possible that the backlight has gone - If you look VERY closely (it sometimes helps to shine a torch on the display) can you see anything whatsoever?

Baring in mind that without the backlight it will be practically black, but you should be able to make out lines etc if that is the problem...

Can you check that and let me know?

I can't see anything. You can see it blink when it first turns on but just a quick flash and not enough to tell if anything is on there or not.
Well, that's as far as my knowledge goes on the insides of LCDs, if it's not that, you'll want to wait for someone else to respond - There are some people on this site who are very good at things like this, so wait a while and see if they respond. If no one else posts within 24hrs or so, try using the 'Request Attention' button as it's possible your question has got lost among the many others.

Hello,

We have a free repair guide on our site that deals with this issue on the Acer AL1916W monitors. Check the link at :

The repair involves replacing 5 parts but is still very easy if you have any soldering skills.
