asked on

cisco etherchannel

i have 4 switches, they have 4 ports fa21, fa22 are port channel one and fa23,fa24 are port channel 2.    Everything is fine until i set the trunk native vlan to anything other than vlan 1.  When is set the native to say 150 i get mismatch errors like crazy.  i can get rid of the errors by selecting the allowed vlans 2-1000.  However, this should not have to be the case.

Please help

First, the native VLAN has to exist.
Second, the native VLAN has to be the same across all the intefaces that make up the channel.

ASKER

i have made the native vlan another number by the command swithcport trunk native vlan 150.  Since i have that command on all the trunked ports i should not get native vlan mismatch errors or bpdu errors, that is why i am confused

That is correct.

Once the etherchannel is built, if you change the physical interface, those changes do not propagate to the port channel interface. However, most changes to the port channel interface configuration do propagate down to the physical interface config.
