Autorun.inf access denied

When i try to copy autorun.inf to a windows 2003 server it shows access denied.

where are you copying it from?

if from a local disk, make sure read only isn't checked and you have permission to do it

hi,

you can do a trick on this actually. i believe you are copying a software CD file to your local server storage.

on your desktop (not the server) copy autorun.inf and rename the file into something and change the extension to .txt ., copy the file on the server and rename it back to autorun.inf. Autorun.inf is actually blocked on server OSs as a security issue.

if you are only copying file from the installer media (CD/DVD), you dont need to copy the autorun.inf actually. just copy the whole files except the autorun.inf. And if you want to run the installer files, you only need to execute the setup or startup files.

autorun.inf is only needed in order to run the application/installer from media (CD/DVD) upon inserting it on your ROM/Optical Drive.
