I'd also disable booting from USB in the BIOS and put a password on the BIOS so no one can just boot a Linux/XPE USB image and get access to files that way...

This will only affect removable storage devices, not the KB/Mouse....

Sir, thank you very much , please tell me if i do the the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies]
"WriteProtect"=dword:00000001

this will only affect the removable storage devices like pen/flash drive but the usb keyboard and mouse will work perfectly, please update me on this regard, thanks in advance.

Should work fine.....

As the KB/Mouse arent Storage Devices, they are Input Devices, should be good to go.....

Please test on a Non Production machine, as with any new Registry modification.....

The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.
