Replacing Nortel switch that is in a stacked configuration
I need to replace a Nortel Business Policy 2000 switch that is in a stacked configuration. There are no vlans on these switches. The last time we replaced a switch in the stack many hosts could not connect for a brief period of time. Afterwards all hosts were able to connect. Whas this just the arp table refreshing itself? What was the cause of this and will it happen again? Is there any way around this?
Thanks
Thanks
The new unit you are putting into the stack should have everything configured to match the one coming out, including the unit number it will be in the stack, before it is inserted into the stack. The stack will reset when the new unit is added which is probably what you experienced in the past.
