can't share outlook calendar

We are currently running a windows 2003 sbs server inhouse for exchange, with clients running outlook 2003.  The vast majority of our users do not have the "share calendar" option available. At least one does. It, as well as most others, is using cached exchange mode.

What do I need to look for? What can cause this problem?

Cached mode shouldn't be an issue. Are all of the users actually using the exchange mailbox, or do they work locally from a .pst file. I know that could be one reason that the "Share my calendar" wouldn't show.

Can they add users to access the calendar by going to Tools, Options, and Delegates?

I figured it out. The users that can't share the calendar are still on personal folders.
If I switch over to mail box, is there a simple way to transfer all the data from the personal folders to the "mailbox" - all mail, including sub folders, as well as calendars etc???

You will need to make the change in the clients outlook profile to deliver message to the server. Make a notation of where the users .pst file is. Than just import the .pst file into the exchange mailbox using the Outlook import wizard.

Make sure to change the delivery setting before running the import. Otherwise it will import everything into the mailbox, and just dump it down again to the .pst file. ;) I have done it before. lol

With my user account added to the delegate list on another system, I cannot see his calendar. Not sure what else can be done through delegation, but I don't think that will be effective.

will the import bring in all subfolders? will it keep date info etc or will everything be dated "today"?

One other question- do I shut off cached mode before importing? Is cached mode any advantage when using mailbox in place of personal folders?

If the items are in a .pst file it won't matter if you are a delegate, you won't be able to access it. It needs to be in a Exchange mailbox to be shared.

The import will bring in everything including sub-folders. Just make sure to put the checkmark into "include subfolders".

One more thing to take into consideration is do you have quotas implemented? You could find that importing all of this mail into the users mailboxes may put them over the quota limits.

The "boss" has another question - what is the capacity limitation of the mailbox? 26? users with a lot of email history saved. I've heard anout 2 gb? limits???
