Problems sending mail to Exchange 2007 server
I have created a seperate Exchange 2007 server with the hub transport role and another one with just a mailbox role. We currently have all e-mail hitting our Exchange 2003 server first. I moved a mailbox from 2003 to the 2007 mailbox server, and when an e-mail is sent to it, the e-mails to that mailbox are stuck in Messages with an unreachable destination in the queue. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The first question would have to be - do you have the routing group connector in place? It should have been installed when you put the first Exchange 2007 server in place.
The next question is whether you can telnet to the Hub server on port 25 from the Exchange server, and also to ensure that there are no smart hosts set on the SMTP virtual server on the Exchange 2003 server.

What would be the process of creating the routing group connector between the two.
The first server that was put in place was the hub transport server. I am able to send e-mail from the 2003 server to the hub transport because all external e-mail goes out through it currently for our disclaimers, so I know that works. Its just not making it to the mailbox server for some reason.

The routing group connector should have been created for you during setup. Have you verified that it is not in place through ESM or get-routinggroupconnector on Exchange 2007?
Otherwise to recreate it use the new-routinggroupconnector command on Exchange 2007.

I'm seeing a routing group called FRONTENDSVR-EXCHANGE. The Frontendsvr is the client access and hub transport and Exchange is the 2003 server. Should I be seeing something for the 2007 mailbox server?
No, because the Mailbox Server has nothing to do with the routing of the traffic. Routing is done by Hub. You would only see a routing group connector to the other server if it also had the Hub Transport server role.
Therefore you need to ensure that your Exchange 2003 server can connect to the Hub transport server on port 25 using IP address, NETBIOS and FQDN.

As I said earlier, the 2003 server already sends mail out externally through the hub transport server for the legacy mailboxes as a way to put disclaimers on the e-mails, so I know it must be able to connect to it. If the 2003 server is able to send external mail through the hub transport server, then why is it not able to route mail to the 2007 mailbox server?

Deleting and re-creating the routinggroupconnector solved the problem.
