IIS 6 to 7 migration

What's the best way to migrate from a server with 6 to a 2008 server with 7  on it..  is it as simple and backing up to file and then recreating the sites on the server  from file?

Check out the MS Web Deployment Tool.
It is still in beta, but it's basically an IIS7 migration tool...

It depends... If the server with IIS 6 you curntly have is running abt 10 or below 20 websites I would spend some time in new server creating them manually and exploring the capabilities etc... If its huge then only automated process is cool.. instead of bearing the pain on u r shoulders...

carefull with sites running SSL , bit versions ( 64 - 32 Dlls) , Any customised com+ etc all needs to be noted...even the best of the best will cmint mistakes and only thing u need is to learn from u r mistakes and have patience to fix them ... So happy migration....
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.
