Windows 7 hangs after logon
Windows 7 beta build 7000, Upgraded from windows vista sp1.
Upgrade was successful, I'm able to login in saef mode with networking
and get to the desktop.
In normal mode after logon I get the welcome message with the revolving circule
for ever.
Please advise.
Thank you,
Oren.

moshe_or,
I have been experiencing 'hangs' since I installed WIN7 a couple of weeks ago - and I think the problem is that I didn't install it on a powerful enough computer (an older box I use for Vista and the Vista runs just fine).
You say you 'upgraded'. Do you mean that you did NOT select the dual-boot and that now your only OS is WIN7?
I hope that is not true.
If you have dual-boot, can you boot into Vista?

Not to criticise but for future reference. Never upgrade to a Beta version of anything. The Beta does not include any support there of regardless, as it is a Beta, incomplete version.
I agree with Michael I would strongly reccomend against any microsoft upgrade, In my experience upgrades take issues along with them and can cause massive problems in the long run. Best practice for any new OS install is a clean load. You may well have software that was installed with vista that is trying to run at startup that is not compatible with windows 7. You could try an MSconfig within safe mode and try to disable anything that doesn't come from microsoft. Also you may have a vista driver inplace of a 7 driver. If you have an image of the old OS why not try a clean load of 7. Also the hardware you are using may have an impact on the problems you are having.
