Have you installed a newer operating system kernel?<br />
If you do then you should reinstall zaptel as it compiles kernel modules for that specific kernel version.

So basically, you had a version conflict between zaptel and asterisk.<br />
<br />
I had a similar issue, after upgrading Asterisk to 1.4.22,...I had to change zaptel to 1.4.9.2..... and it was fixed instantly.

I am having a very particular problem with my TC400B transcoder card.<br />
I cannot load TC400B card. I am using zaptel-1.4.12.1, asterisk-1.4.24 versions on RHEL4.4. <br />
When i run modprobe wctc4xxp command, the following error occurred below.<br />
FATAL: Error inserting wctc4xxp (/lib/modules/2.6.9-42.ELs<wbr />mp/extra/w<wbr />ctc4xxp.ko<wbr />): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)<br />
then run dmesg command:<br />
wctc4xxp: Unknown symbol setup_timer. <br />

Have never had this problem before on asterisk-1.2.x, zaptel-1.2.x version and same OS.<br />
