Can't forward an RTF Outlook message

My Outlook (2003) has Word to be the editor of messages. When I receive a msg in rich text (with attachment, btw) and I try to forward it, Outlook complains that Word isn't installed etc.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround? TY

I can't, or the people I deal with, won't disable word as their editor, so that is not a choice.

Set your format to Plain Text for sending such email.

The message has to be in rich text. The sender of the message is using Word 2002 t0 populate the body of the message. The clients opening it and having the problem have Word 2003. Perhaps that's the problem?

Rich Text should be compatible between Word 2002 and 2003. Are both using Outlook to send and recipient?  Same version?

Have recipient create a new Outlook profile.

Both use Outlook(same version) to send and receive. What would creating a new Outlook profile do?
war1

Because the recipient cannot forward an RTF email, but should be able to.
