I've checked the Arcserve alert activity log. It show &quot;failed to send SMTP (80000005).<br />

The server is on McAfee Enterprise 8.5, I am still figuring out whether there is any rules... but I am not that familiar with Mcafee... &nbsp; :(

I've have a new ArcServe r12 host backing up few servers. The backup run fine. The only problem now is I can't seem to get the alert notification running. <br />

I've already configure configure the SMTP setting in the Alert Manager. When I tried to telnet the SMTP IP eg. &quot;telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 25&quot; it is able to connect.<br />
<br />
I've also configured the job details global option for the alert.<br />
<br />
Is there any advice that you can give for me to check further?? <br />

The term "Backup" means the methods and processes involved to copy computer data (system data as well as application data) to media other than the ones where the data originally live (disk, tape, optical, cloud).
