Seagate 1.5 TB ES series in Canada?

Hi there,

I'm looking to get some 1.5 TB drives for a RAID set. So, with the NAS I use I am looking specifically for 1.5 TB Seagate Barracudas. Now, I see the AS model available but I can't find the ES model anywhere at the Canadian stores (or any stores). Where can I find it or is it just not available?

What would be the risks of using the "AS" Barracudas in a NAS which was actually specifically tested with those disks, inside a RAID-5 set?
It's the QNAP TS-509 Pro.

It would be a 5-disk RAID-5 array. The use would be pretty heavy since it's in a small office with about 10-15 graphics design workers.

I concur with Jamietoner, There have been a lot of seagate issues with the 750gb models.

I'd use WD 1.5 or 2.0 TB drives

Be aware that most server OS (32 bit) only support 2TB logical partitions so if you have 6 TB of drive space you have to have 3 logical devices.

Hope this helps
