Task ' mymail@hotmail.com- Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80040102) : 'The requested operation cannot be performed on this account'

Hello Experts

I have been using Outlook2007 for a long time now, I had 2 accounts setup on it the first is Gmail and the other is Hotmail...

With gmail I never had any issues, but with hotmail I had this issue several times and usually it gets me frustrated and delete the whole account to get rid of this problem permanently, though I can't keep on accessing my hotmail through webmail coz I'm working on it and every few minutes need to check my email..

I'm using Outlook 2007, MS outlook connector is used for hotmail.. I keep receiving the following error everytime it synchronize the email.

Task 'mymail@hotmail.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80040102) : 'The requested operation cannot be performed on this account'

I have tried setting up a new hotmail account with less than 10 mega bytes and 10 emails and had no problem with it. only the problem occurs with my original Hotmail account which has 800MB of space and 2500 of emails..

Any help is appreciated,

What antivirus are you using ? you could try disabling it to test....
Aso are you using the most up-to-date connector

I'm using Eset Smart security V. 4.0.314.0, I have tried disabling it but still the problem persists .
The MS Office Connector is Version 12.0.6423.1000, I think it's up to date..

the weird thing that I notice with the account that I have problem with is it had some corrupted attachments in several emails but also deleting these mails didn't solve the problem...

any other suggestions?

Run ScanPST on "all" PST's to rule out a corruption

I have no options to adjust the time out for hotmail, coz it's using a MAPI protocol and when I double click the account it only shows the box for user name and password ..

I will try to scan the PST file and will report back..

Tried the scanpst and fixed lots of errors but still the error code still pops up when syncing ... but only when doing the send & receive manually the error will come otherwise it doesn't...

The new emails to hotmail willl sync only in certain times during the day... and will not sync directly once the email is sent to it..

I have got some other error codes in the connector log, attached below ..

FINALLY I fixed ....

Here's what I did today which I think fixed the problem...
Clicked on Tools menu --> Options --- > Mail Setup Tab --> Clicked on Send & Receive button which will pop up a new window (Send/Receive Groups) double click on All Accounts under Group Name ..
Another new window will pop up (Send/Receive Settings - All Accounts) on the Accounts pane clicked on my Hotmail accounts and changed folder options download from Download headers only to Download Complete item including attachments.

I think this has solved the problem, but also fixing the PST files helped so much in detecting the bad emails and cleaning them after.
