Checkpoint Smartview Reporter error

ive installed Smartview Reporter on a PC, then created a new reporter host on the Checkpoint gateway (server). However, i'm unable to connect as indicated by following error message "smartview reporter server could not process the login request because it is in idle state...."

please advise.

Hi,

Can you tell me the version of Checkpoint you are running? Have you installed a HotFix for Interspect? If you are runing R55 please try the following:

Type at the command line:
   1. Stop the Check Point services with the following command:

      cpstop

   2. Update table information on the machine:

      TablesUpgrade FP6 FP6

   3. Start the Check Point services:

      cpstart

   4. Reattempt to log in to SmartView Reporter.

and let us know how it goes!

Note: if you are running R55 then you need to upgrade - R55 has been end-of-life for quite a while now ..
