Hyperlinks in Outlook

We are recently facing problems with users, when they are creating hyperlinks in Outlook. The PC hangs for aleast 5 mins, when they want to link a document from our network drive.
By default , when you click on hyperlink in outlook 2003 it opens My documents and works fine, but when we click on the drop down menu to select the network drive, PC completely hangs.

Any suggestions,please advise.

Check all the network drives, some of them might be disconnected, delete the unused ones.
Also change this setting in windows explorer
Open windows explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View >
Uncheck the option "Automatically search for network printers and folder".
Try adding an attachment.

All network drives are connected and also i have tried the option of Uncheck the option "Automatically search for network printers and folder..But my hyperlink problem remains the same..It still takes very long time to display all my network folders in the network drive.

Inserting attachment is ok,is displays the folders fast and easily get attached.

FYi, we have recently moved our file servers to datacentre..users complain after moving the servers , they are having this problem.

Any suggestions..

Please check the server utilization for processor usage and network usage.
Also try ping from the pcs where you are facing this issue and also from pcs that you are not facing this issue so that we can compare both and confirm if it is related to local lan or not.

Try opening the folders from Start > Run type the path there and confirm if there is same delay in opening the folder as in outlook.
If the above is true then this problem in not related to outlook but probably with server performance or network related. Please check the above also check the processor utilization at the server end.

It is ok from the run command, but takes time from Outlook to browse the network folders.

As i told u, while attaching documents it works fine, but when creating hyperlinks, it takes time..Might be there is some tweaks in the way heperlinks are created in outlook?

what antiviurs are you using, and check if it is set not to scan network drives.
Also check for any dead shortcuts in the users profile, eg my documents etc.
