Is there a private forum type in phpbb?

Is there option to discuss certain group of people in the fourm? I need to discuss with forum only few people on the topic.

Is there facility on it?

yes, it is group permissions,
just make a new group put them in it and then assign the proper permissions for access for each group for the forum
