Hello, I have a user that has a Dell Latitude D800 laptop.  The Alps Touchpad stopped functioning.  My first action was to try to re-install the Alps touchpad drivers (fromt he Dell site)  I can download and unzip the file without error.  When I try to install the software I get the error "Software installation has been cancelled".  I never canceled the installation, the error pops-up aotomatically.  I get the same error when I try to uninstall the Alps touchpad from add/remove programs.  I have run Adaware & Malware Bytes, hoping it may have been a malicious file causing the error, but neither of them seemed to fix the problem.    I have also used the Windows XP Operating disk to run a Windows repair.  Any advice/help/tips I can gte to repair, successfully re-install, or successfully un-install the Alps software & drivers woudl be appreciated.  Have a nice day.

I knew there had to be an explanation why i did not mention I had tried this!  When I boot into safe mode, the resolution is set so that I can not read anything on the screen!  The screen looks as if the horizontal adjustment on your TV is set wrong.  I tried to adjust it and had no luck.  I am trying to download a new graphics driver for it to see if that will help me set the resolution to where I can see whats going on! As soon as I can see whats happeneing,  Ill report back on my attempt to uninstall it from safe mode!
