i'm wondering if there is a way to manually set the sites default url in drupal.

I'm running my drupal website on subdomain like so

http://sub.domain.com

however it when i go to

'/admin/settings/site-information'

it is showing the following

http://sub.domain.com:8014/

ie it is appending the port number. I'm sure this is an apache issue, however i'm with shared hosting that is a little slow to respond.  Any quick tips.

there is a setting in setting.php that you can set the default url

 $base_url = 'http://sub.domain.com';  // NO trailing slash!
