How to delete a file in GUI in MAC ?

I am using 'right click on file and selecting move to delete',
though we do not have 'delete' key here, is there any way using a key combination I can delete a file ?

cmd + del will move the file to trash
shift +cmd + del will empty trash


by del I'm talking about the backspace key
