How to get desktop in GUI in MAC ?

In Finder -> Go, I see the shortcut to get the desktop is 'uparrow + command + D' but it doesn't work,
How get the desktop using the key combination ?

It's shift cmd D

the up arrow you're taking about is the symbol for the shift key
