I'm going to list some of the Cisco equipment I have....I need someone to tell me what else I need to get a VOIP lab going.

A few 2600 series routers.
A couple Cat 2950 switches
a 1760 router

I of course need some phones...what is the lowest model ($) I can get by with? What other equipment will I need? Any help is appreciated...

Hi,

You can check the below extended list for soft as well as hard phones supporting the cisco call manager;

Personally I would also setup a Asterisk based VoIP server to test the SIP trunks.

Will I need a special router/switch for this or can I use the equipment that I have?

Are you planning to add some E1 or T1? What about integrating PSTN with your call manager. If so then you need additional gear otherwise the basic VoIP setup will be done with your gear.

I'm not trying to do anything real fancy with this...just working on CCNP...not a VOIP certification or CCIE. I guess I'm a bit confused about call manager. Is this just an 'app' I download and install on my router? Thanks for the help so far...
