Hi,

How can I change the format of the date field from YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS to YYYY-MM-DD.

Right-click the field and choose Format field.

Hi,

I am using the datetime field as an input parameter and the text on the parameter window shows as "Please enter datetime format yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss". I would like to display as yyyy-mm-dd.

You cannot control the appearance of parameter fields except by choosing a different datatype.

But if you are using a parameter field for selection, then it's datatype MUST match the dadatype of the database field you are comparing to.  If your database datatype is datetime then the most efficient selection will occur if the parameter is also datetime (but you will have to enter a time as well as a date).

If you want to use a Date (rather than Datetime) parameter field but your datatabase field is datetime then you would also have to create a formula field which extracted just the date from the database datetime field  for use in a selection rule.
DateValue({table.datetimefield})
This could cause the report to run slower.

Thanks Peter I changed the parameter type to Date in the parameter edit window and it worked.
