at&t palm treo 750 sim lock / phone lock - south africa

Hi - I have bought a Palm Treo 750 from a friend in America. Problem is it wont work here in South Africa - it says "Sim Lock" - I haven't got a cable for it, although I do have a bluetooth dongle for my PC which could maybe facilitate communications between the phone and the PC - but that aside - any ideas how I can unlock ? - there is a plethora of conflicting information on the internet - so I thought I'd leave it to the experts. Thanks :-)

Hi

Thanks for the answer(ish).

But as I said, is it possible without the cable?

Both the links you sent required a cable - and the first  (free) one was riddled with contradictions etc.

If you can't help it's fine - I'll just ship it back to the experts in England -but then I have to wait two weeks for it to get there, 2 minutes whiles they sort it, then two weeks for it to get back...

Thanks

Matt

For the first link you need the USB cable which is standard for any mobile phone to communicate with the PC.

Thanks :-) - They don't sell them over here so I've decided to stick with my old Motorola Razr.

My 8 year old daughter loves the Treo though - uses it to play 'bubble pop' - highest score 406 to date !!!

Thanks for your help, and best regards.
