Crystal Reports XI Release 2 - SQL Server Native Client upgrade

Hi,

I need to upgrade the connection of some reports in OLEDB (ADO) from SQL Server 2005 Native Client (SQLNCLI) to SQL Server 2008 Native Client (SQLNCLI10).

I tried to change the property "Provider" of the connection from SQLNCLI to SQLNCLI10 but as soon as I preview, it's changing back automatically to SQLNCLI !?!?

I also tried to create a new connection in SQLNCLI10 and update the database item without sucess...

Is it possible to do it without re-starting the report from scratch ?

TIA,

Phil

Have you tried the SET DATABASE LOCATION?
If so why do you think it didn't work?

Crystal will sometimes update the source but the SQL will still show the old source.

Hi mlmc,

As written, I already tried to change the Provider property thru "Set Database location" menu

I know it's not working because, after saving the report and preview it,  the sqlncli.dll is still loaded and not sqlncli10.dll.

Any other suggestions ?

INone.  I have never tried converting a report like that.  Generally when I convert from one data source to another the tables are different enough so I have to recreate the report.

I am able to change the data location that way but the provider isn't changing.

If you have both SQLNCLI and SQLNCLI10 on the same machine : CRXI R2 uses SQLNCLI anyway.
