Is there a service or program to send messages across a LAN?

Im looking to send messages across our network to certain computers, mainly just the ones within the IT department. We use bomgar, and need to be able to quickly tell each other that bomgar is  in use, and then notify again when we release the license. Any ideas on what the best way to implement this would be?
