Revolving Image Using JavaScript

Take a look SAP's main page: http://www.sap.com/usa/index.epx.  I'm working on a site with the same general appearance, but the client wants the multiple images to fade in and out rather than a single fixed image.  I don't think Flash is feasible here because I want to keep the text boxes that reside on top of the image.  (See "SAP Solutions" and "SAP Services." The gray background is part of the image, but the text is HTML.)  Can I rotate the images in and out with a nice fade using JavaScript?  If so, can someone point me to a good block of JavaScript that will accomplish this?
