Windows 2000 extended file attributes + Offline

I have a group of files managed by a software called DiskXtender (DX).  DX writes files to offline hardware devices (jukebox, Centera, etc.).  After a file has been migrated, which means there's a pointer left behind but no file on the drive, it has a file attribute of AO.  For testing purposes I want to remove the O attribute from some files and add it to files without the O.

From what I've read the O stands for "offline" which is true when the file is kept on offline storage.  How do I remove/add the O attribute.
