(sql server) MSDE 2000 Reinstall failed, server could not be configured Installation Rollback

I have a program which automatically Extracts and runs the MSDE 2000 SQL server during the program setup. I had to uninstall the software and upon reinstallation I was greeted with this message "Failed to configure server"
I read the install logs and it said "the Server was terminated by a STOP command Recived by System services controler (not exact wording)

The install then rollsback and exits.
I have uninstalled every bit of SQL on the machine and flushed out the Registry of anything containing MSSQL. I have gone into Admin tools and tried restarting the services as noted in other forums. I would like to use MSIZAP but I dont know the installation ID nor does it exist in the registry

I read that renaming the install path would to it but since the installer executes the SQL installation i really have no say in it.

This isnt the first time this has happened, it also happened on another PC, Unfortunately I cant remember how I fixed it.
I need this software installed, can anyone guide me to success?
