this application has failed to start because comerr32.dll was nor found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I get this from AIM 6 and can get it to go away

Perhaps 6.8 update can help.  http://dashboard.aim.com/aim - http://download.aim.com/client/68

Just to be sure, have you done updates to your Operating System and Browser, along with Viruscan/Firewall updates to scan, just in case?
Also may help to report this problem, since I've not found others with that same error nor a fix for it yet  -  http://www.aim.com/help_faq/report.adp
Did fine the dll error noted here - http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/dlllibrary/comerr32/
Here I find Malware checks that show most safe, one under review - http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/malware/comerr32.dll.php
