Hi,

I am planning to pursue a Business Analyst path (most likely work as a contractor)... Need to know some key area's within BA that I can work on... I've got exposure to SDLC (although, non standard) plus I do have exposure to writing BRD and conduction JAD sessions while representing business...

Plus, need to know if ORACLE / SQL Server exposure would be beneficial in future...

Thanks again for your assistance...

Titles have become so disconnected from work functions -- please elaborate on what you understand a business analyst to do.  I could safely advise you to work on principles of business process execution language (BPEL), service oriented architecture (SOA), logical data modeling (previously known in my generation as CASE), and Web Services 2.0.

E) oversee the development of application or improvement of the process
