Save As adds ICS extension to attachment

When a certain user sends an attachment, the received message attachment looks normal and can be opened, but when right click Save AS is selected the extension ICS is appended to the file, as in drawing.bmp would be drawing.bmp.ics, or document.pdf would be document.pdf.ics

GroupWise thinks you are exporting a calendar item.  Must be something with the sender I think, but I do not have ananswer and am appealing to higher expert power, thank you.

Doing some research in the Novell forums where I used to be a sysop, I found that others are having the same issue as yourself.  It appears if an email comes from a lower level client such at GW6.5 or a newer GW8 there isn't a problem...SaveAs works as expected. Likewise if an email with attachment comes from an external source the problem isn't seen.

How long has this been happening?  Is it just one user who is experiencing the problem?  Or a whole post office?  You mention a certain user, has their client changed?  Can you reset their client options using either ConsoleOne or GWCheck and put the client back at the default settings?

What version of GW are you running both on the affected client machine and the backend servers?

Thanks,

Scott

Seems to be affecting one user when they send attachment, SAVE AS appends ICS extension.  No other reports of problems.
