How do I force IE to refresh flash content in a spry tabbed panel?

I have used a Spry Accordion and inserted flash animations and flash video in various panels.

Firefox and Google Chrome both stop the video/animation on closing the panel then restart it on re-opening.

However IE keeps it running. So if i have a flash animation that is set to stop after running so many frames on closing and re-opening the panel it remains on the last frame.

Likewise with flash videos on closing the accordion panel the video continues to run with audio playing. Is there any javascript I can use to force the content to stop on closing and refresh on opening like all the other browsers?

Never used spry accordion.  Is there an "onopening" javascript event or the like?  If not, you can also use an "onclick" event on the div.

When the event is hit use document.getElementById() to retrieve the object element which contains the flash then do

objEl.outerHTML = objEl.outerHTML;
