Hi,
I have just purchased two second hand cisco devices:

Cisco ASA Firewall 5510
Cisco router 2600

neither have any flash cards installed so I am guessing that they will not work without these. I was just looking for advice if these devices are any good, any how I go about buying the right flash cards and IOS's for them

Thanks

Neither one requires a "flash card". the 2600 is old and past end of life. the 5510 is brand new-ish, and probably the best firewall on the market. both have NVRAM built onboard for both software images and config files.
