What is the best way to backup ESX3.5 vm's?

I am looking for a good (free) way to backup my esx 3.5 guest OS's to a network share off the server.  Please advise

Veeam Backup (www.veeam.com), VizionCore vRangerPro (www.vizioncore.com) are all good pieces of software. But depending on your budget and requirements, even free tools likes veeams fastSCP tool could be used to backup your VM's
