Change new password through OWA 2007.

A client of mine running  Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2003 domain. They would like to enforce complex password policy requirements, and allow for users who work remotly to change their passwords through OWA.

In this senario if you check to have a user change their password on the next logon will OWA prompt them to change their passwod on next logon or will they be unable to login?

Ok, I am running SBS2008 with Exchange 2007 and I was curious about this myself. I changed my password and opted the option to make me cahnge the password upon logging back on. I immediately tried to logon to OWA, and it did not take my new password and just flat refused to allow me to login with my temp password. I then rebooted my pc, changed my password and it all works again. I then did a little search and found out that you can not make a user change their password via owa when running server 2008. However, when running Server 2003 with Exchange 2007 you can accomplish this. It apparently has to do with IIS and IIS7 does not support this. Here are the two articles I came across.

OK, her is the outcome.

if you set to change the "password on next logon" - users will be unable to logon
if you set up a policy to change password - users will be ablt to and prompted to change their password before the password expires.

Thanks for your help MSA2003.
