I have a mysql 5.0 server (new installation) on my Ubuntu 8.10. What should I do to connect to the server from a windows machine on the same LAN? I tried change bind-address and the mysql-server failed to start with this changed configuration. Mysql server start only if the bind-address is IP of the ubuntu machine.
