1. Is there a way to set the default font size on the mac so that I don't have to  go to each app and set it there if possible?
If not
2, How do you set a default size in filemaker. I haven't been able to set the font in filemaker 8.5. It is either so small that my eyes get tired reading on days when I spend a lot of time updating files or so big at 150 that the layouts won't fit on my screen. There are a few dozen layouts so going to each is out of the question. Would it be possible to jump to 125 in stead of 150?

I am not gonna get a new friend!
1: no
2: change the font name and size without selecting an object in design mode, filemaker will keep it for the next object. for existing stuff, no trick unless altering all objects at once, but that is not wanted most of the time. 125% : no.
Why is it not readable now? designed by somebody with super eyes? What screen size and res do you have? One of these tiny portables?
I use verdana 10 most of the time, because it is decent on mac and pc, for current machines, 17" 1280x1024.
Some fonts must be avoided, especially on mac where osX never achieved the readability of geneva 9 under os9.

system preferences/monitor but altering these on flat screens leads to a fuzzier screen, so always stick to the native res of your monitor if LCD for a sharp view
