Outlook 2007 Save Password Checkbox

I upgraded my Office 2003 install to Office2007 which for the most part seems to have gone just right.  However,  my outlook account password has the save password checkbox disabled and so every time I open outlook I have to enter the password again.

Please advise.

Have you gone to Tools, then Account Settings.  Click Change on the account you wish to change, then put your password in that way.

Not sure if you have tried this yet.

Yes.  I have, but the save password checkbox is disabled and so I cannot save it.

You may want to try the solution found here.  It involves using the Windows Registry to fix it.

I could not find a key Outlook\Security in my registry...

I found the referenced key (from the URL in this comment) and set the value to 1 and restarted Outlook and problem solved.  Thanks.
