Are we talking about a www website ?...are you hosting your own DNS,...or is it hosted by someone else ?

http:/www.mydomain.com points to our website but i'd like http://store.mydomain.com to point to our online ordering servers.

Wherever you registered your domain name should have a way for you to add a cname record for "store".... For example.....www.godaddy.com....is where I registered my domain and if I wanted to add a "mail", or "remote"....or "owa"....then I just log into my account and create  a cname record.
