MS had a free trial download for DaRT 5.0 (W2K and XP) but it had been removed and was no longer available when I checked a week or so ago. The Vista version (DaRT 6.0) was never made available for trial.

If you have a TechNet or MSDN subscription, you can download the Desktop Optimization Packs which include DaRT.

There may be unauthorized copies available on the internet.

I have that to be also true but I wasn't 100% sure. Now I know and thank you. I did find some one who happen to have an OEM copy for sale and I tried it out and it works.
