Windows 2000 SBS NT Backup

A client I have just taken over has a 2000 server which crashed. The only backup is a backup file which was either backed up by NT Backup or Veritas. I copied the file onto a Windows 2003 machine and I tried restoring it. NT Backup can read the file and select the folders to be resored but it hangs on the first file. Is there anything I can do to restore this file? Thanks

Are you redirecting the output?  If not select one file and try.

Yes I am redirecting it to another folder. If a disk is setup as a dynamic disk on one server can it be read on another server when physically stored on that server?
Yes.. it writes the info to the boot record.

What happens if you select 1 file to restore instead of the whole thing?
