Exchange email suffix versus AD domain name

Can I have exchange email suffix name different that Active Directory name?
ex:

AD Domain name=ABC.com
Exhcange SMTP address: XYZ.com

Absolutely!!  As a matter of fact it is recommended in many situations that they are different.  I have worked for very few companies that have used the same in both places.

so how do you setup exchange to have email suffx? does it take by default organization name as suffix?
the first time you install exchange, does it ask for domain name or you you can give it any name?

During installation it inherits the default from your organization.  Once installed, it is simply a matter of editing the Default E-mail Address Policy to change (or add) the address(es) that you want everyone to get.
