reset string array in vb.net

I am initializing a string array like this:

Dim fields() As String = {"action_type text (50)", "action_description text (50)", "reset_button bit", "adjust_button bit"}

and then using it for some action, then setting it to Nothing.

But when I try to refill it with:

fields={"count integer", "cycle_time integer", "count_date date"}

the designer tells me that an Expression is expected.

How do I refill this array without having to define a new one?

You need to do it like this....

    fields = New String() {"count integer", "cycle_time integer", "count_date date"}
