Hi

You need to disable the auto updater. Menu Help Check for updates let it run and then disable it from the preferences button.

I don't have 9 with me at present but this worked for 8... I will check later if there is a registry tweak too.

Hi

reg hack as follows, simply substitute the 8.0 with 9.0.

No sadly this did not work either! I can disable the automatic updates via update options or registry but it does not fix my issue.

Hm, I think I may have misunderstood.

The windows installer comes up when Windows is trying to reinstall something that may have been overwritten by your install or if is trying to install a add-on or new feature that it has been asked for by that program.

Is there any message as to what it is trying to install, or does it look for a source file that gives us a clue?

I suspect the custom package tries to install something on execute similar to the updater (hence my earlier post)

Worst case you may have to remove and install the 'normal' setup.
